Let's Get Started!

I work with children who...

  • Are between the ages of three and 11
  • Are neurodivergent and neurotypical, diagnosed and undiagnosed
  • Attend school in a public, private, or homeschool setting
  • Feel behind or want to be challenged with their learning
  • Need a patient and understanding adult who provides individualized instruction

Whole-Child Assessment

What It Is

The Whole-Child Learning Assessment is a structured, in-depth look at your child across the areas that actually shape learning: not just academics, but the physical, behavioral, and social-emotional pieces that make academics possible. You come away with a clear written report — strengths, needs, and concrete next steps — that you can use however you like, whether or not we go on to work together.

What I Assess

  •  Academic Skills  - Literacy, Math, and Writing measured against age-appropriate expectations
  • Motor Skills - Fine and Gross Motor Skills that underpin many life skills including handwriting and focus
  • Social-Emotional Skills - How your child relates to learning and others
  • Behavioral Skills - How your child handles challenges and demands
  • Learning Profile - What motivates your child and what gets in their way

What You Receive

  • Relaxed, play-based assessment session(s) with your child - no high-pressure testing
  • Clear report written in plain language that includes your child's strengths, areas of need, and specific, prioritized recommendations
  • Feedback conversation where we walk through the findings together and you can ask any questions
  • Document of assessment findings you can share with your pediatrician, therapist, or school team to support coordinated care

Why Start Here

For many families, an assessment is the right first step. It replaces guessing with a plan, helps you advocate for your child with real information in hand, and — if we move into tutoring — means we start on day one already knowing exactly what to work on.

Mathematics

Math, while it lends itself easily to being hands-on, builds upon previously learned concepts. A child can feel left behind and lost very quickly, no matter how much "fun" we try to make math feel. After assessing your child's current level and looking for any learning gaps, I develop a flexible learning plan to fill in the gaps, allowing your child to master concepts and grow in confidence as a mathematician.

Literacy

There are five pillars to finding success in reading: phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Using evidence-based practices founded in the Science of Reading as well as a skill-based, low-pressure assessments, I work with your child's brain to not only learn to read, but also LOVE to read.

Writing

I believe writing can be broken down into two components: handwriting and content writing. Handwriting is crucial to learning and retaining information. Because of its importance, I provide explicit instruction when needed using a wide variety of tools to keep what can be a monotonous activity more engaging. The other part of writing I consider content writing - it focuses on communicating our ideas, the "what" of writing. Grammar skills are a crucial foundation to successfully conveying our thoughts in written form as well as knowing and understanding the types of writing including, but not limited to, narrative, persuasive, and informative.

"Life" Skills

I consider these skills the foundation to much of the academic learning that takes place. They are necessary when it comes to providing a solid base for learning opportunities. These include the following:

  • Fine and gross motor skills (for example, pre-writing, tennis)
  • Behavioral skills
  • Social-emotional skills
